2010 - New Goal! MEX

I was finishing up Baby and my career in agility - that was the plan. We are working on our ADCH performance equivalent for USDAA. BUT lol, I just found out some pretty exciting news. I looked into our DOCNA standing for our MEX (prodded by my dear husband) and found out that we are only 1 standard, 1 jumpers and 1 gamble short! We dont play DOCNA but once a year so I am very surprised we are so close. I like the idea of having the MEX because that would make Baby a 4 time Champion - one in each of the venues (excluding UKC and CPE). We will be going to the Strausburg trial to see if we can finish this up. Oh, and if we get our APD (Accomplished Performance Dog) we will have a four-time Championship with a dual championship title in USDAA. At this time we dont have any goals to go dual in AKC for the PAX. MACH2 is good for us! :)

* AKC MACH, MACH2 and our MXF
2007 5th National Champion 16″
* NADAC NATCH, V-NATCH, NATCH2, V-NATCH2, NATCH3, V-NATCH3;
2005 2nd place National Champion 16″, 2006 2nd place National Champion 16″
2007 1st place National Champion 16″
* USDAA ADCH, Snooker Champion

Im impressed with my little Border Collie - she has had quite the career. :)

Well, I cant say this is my best work - still “walking” injured.  I had to do a lot of distance work, but the cool thing is I CAN!  :)  I was very happy with my Baby, she tried very hard to follow my “stand and point” directions.  She did awesome.  Not many qualifiers (off by just a little).  We did manage a 3 super Q, but obviously we were not going for a super q… we were just picking a course that flowed for the walking girl. Check out this slice! Wow. I looked at alot of the other photos taken at this same jump, and most were not slicing it (of course Boo and Amy did) Way to go Amy, but I did teach her some stuff before she moved. lol

I was feeling pretty good before these runs. Three day trial, Baby was running well and so was I. But two jumps before the end (and what was sure to be a double Q) I felt something in my leg that didnt seem right. When I made my next step my leg gave out and I fell. I had never felt anything like it before. Turns out after a trip to the urgent care unit that I pulled a hamstring. Luckily it was not a tear but the recovery is about 4 - 6 weeks. Which means I will not be able to run Baby in Idaho, or the Nationals. Greg finished running her this weekend. Sucks to be me right now. However, these runs by myself and Greg were awesome! :)

Well, Baby was a sound kid this weekend!  I was happy to get off the boot and into the ring after an almost 5 month break.  Baby rocked her FAST on Saturday (even though mom took two obstacles backwards, loser).  And she absolutely blew the FAST course apart on Sunday with an 80 point course AND the only dog to qualify in her 16′ division AND get a absolutely perfect FAST challenge topped by no other.  Both these FAST runs got her nice blue ribbons!  Only 5 dogs in the entire excellent class qualified today and my dear hubby was one of them!

We also had a fantastic standard run both days unfortunately they ended in one knocked bar.  :(  But our time was a first place run today and a third place run yesterday.  Jumpers was a q yesterday with a fourth place, todays run??? well, a little less, ha ha with my Baby dog popping pole 10!!!  Yes, I am talking about my perfect little Baby Dog.  Not her fault completely and totally funny for me!  We had a great weekend together, no pressure and lots of just enjoying being able to run together again.

I bought the kids (Ice and Baby) cool down sheets - with special magincal healing abilities.  I am hoping that I am able to keep both dogs sound with these coats and new warm up and cool down routines.  Today was first try and they both did great.  :)

Well, now that I am (unofficially) out of my boot… my Baby dog and I on back to practice.  My little treat motivated kid is VERY into the new toys that I have bought.  I am jazzed.  She is so excited!  We were working  our contacts (with my gimpy running)  - she is HOT.  Her running contact was spot on tonight.  Fast, accurate - she is going to kick my butt this weekend for sure.  She is sound so far, got my fingers crossed that she can stay that way.  We are doing two days of CKC this weekend, then in March we have four trials in a row - Terrier club, Idaho 3-day AKC, AKC Nationals, then USDAA in Loveland.  I think we will pass on trial number 5  LOL (which is the AKC Mile High in Castle Rock) :(  bummer, but dont think I can swing it - we will need a break LOTS of traveling  :)

:)
