For my Baby Dog, let your story be told. To a great little dog that has touched my heart and changed my life.

I was feeling pretty good before these runs. Three day trial, Baby was running well and so was I. But two jumps before the end (and what was sure to be a double Q) I felt something in my leg that didnt seem right. When I made my next step my leg gave out and I fell. I had never felt anything like it before. Turns out after a trip to the urgent care unit that I pulled a hamstring. Luckily it was not a tear but the recovery is about 4 - 6 weeks. Which means I will not be able to run Baby in Idaho, or the Nationals. Greg finished running her this weekend. Sucks to be me right now. However, these runs by myself and Greg were awesome! :)

2009 December 30 - We Qualified!

Baby and I qualified for the AKC Nationals in March!  We are going!  I am hoping that my foot is healed and that I am in shape, I will have to really kick my own butt to make that happen since my procedure is not until January 13 - may take 3 weeks in the boot before I can run again… then its hit the treadmill and work!  :)  Greg has qualified also so we will both be able to go together.

He are my latest videos that I was really late posting.. Go Baby Dog!  :)

I know it late! Better than not at all. :) This was a great trial for Baby and I. We ran very well together and both the errors done, were mine! So, I guess one cant complain. She is such an awesome dog, I am glad that I have her. Its just not very often that we run across things that we dont know how to do or skills that we dont have. Its a great feeling. Enjoy!

This is from this weekend USDAA.  Baby did another bang up job!  I am so happy that I have her, that she is sound and we work so well together.  She loves running and I think was a little disappointed that she ran so few runs.  But here is a photo of her driving those weaves.  Good girl!  Video to follow later when I have it.

My husband said - “its your anniversary, nothing can go wrong”.  And he was right. However, it didnt start out looking very well.

When we arrived at the trial site on Saturday things were a little wet. I played ball with the dogs before I put them in their crates and all was well. Baby was only entered in the tournament games on

Saturday so she was crated most of the morning. When I pulled her out for warm up she came out on two legs. She was severely limping on her right front and left rear. I have no idea what happened. I was a little panicked. I started walking her around, massaging her and stretching her. It seemed that the more I did this the better she was. I completed our warmup with only a slight limp on the front leg. I made the decision to run her in Grand Prix because I felt she was just stiff. She performed great with only one knocked bar that Julie says was just a slip on the grass before she took off. But again when I took her out again not too long later for the Steeplechase and she was even worse - I walked her around and massaged again but mad the decision to scratch since I really needed her for Snooker the next day. Sarah was there and offered us some Rimadyl. Soon after I scratched Baby she was out in the field running and playing with the other dogs with no issues what so ever. I dont know what it was, but there were no signs of anything the rest of the day or the next day.

It is with great excitement that I present “ADCH BABY”   USDAA Agility Dog Champion!!!!

What a fantastic career she has had!

You know - remembering the rules is a really, really good thing.  :) Forgetting a major rule?  An absolute heartbreaker.  So, I am in the need of one more sacred SuperQ… Hard to get for the little dog jumping 22″.  In the 22″ division its a sea of really fast dogs.  :)  But, we did what we could - ran a really nice, efficient, clean snooker - after the last 7 (it was a 3-obstacle sequence) I thought we were done, we had done it.  The very last SuperQ for our class was given to a dog with the EXACT same points/plan as me - only SHE remembered to cross the line!  Heartbreak!!!!!  I know we had beaten her time, not realizing the clock shit.  Damn!  I will NEVER do that again.!  Isnt that what they say?  Lesson learned?????  That was our ADCH and I gave it away!  :(

The weekend was good anyway - Baby and I had some awesome runs - she took first in Standard, first in Gamblers (with the absolutely worse send/setup I could have given her)  Good dog!  Her grand prix run was really good… I sacrificed my ending for the contact (knowing full well it would put me out of position).  Which it did!  And that cost up a few seconds AND the darn judge called the contact anyway… I am telling you, she should not have been called… but the first day if the judge couldnt SEE the contact performance, she called it.  Its supposed to be when in doubt give it to them - but that was not her.  I dont know for positive what she saw on mine, but she did make alot of bad contact calls on Saturday.

The course this weekend were very challenging I think - I had forgotten the famous USDAA “you can only be one place at a time” theme.  They love to put you on one side for one obstacle and force your hand on the next (meaning like the tunnel is on one side of the dogwalk and the next obstacle is on the other side - you have to make a choice, be at the tunnel or be on the other obstacle, you cant do both).  :)  USDAA loves that stuff.  For some reason (unknown to me) I have started second guessing my ability to get into place with my front crosses.  Unbelieveable logic here.  When have I NOT been able to get my cross in?????  Okay, a couple but over 8 years????  Come on!!!!!  I walked an entire course with Baby dog with rears… NO, I didnt run it that way - I found my courage at the last minute and pulled off the very beautiful fronts that I know I can do, and brought Baby’s lines in nicely.  I did however “pull a Kenette” or “chicken out” of one VERY important blind and it cost me time.  I cannot afford mistakes like that… luckily the dog that pulled the better time had faulted, but that doesnt make me feel any better that they actually beat us in time.

I have to “Get, get my head in the game - gotta get my head in the game”  (disney jams).  :)  lol  Me chickening out???  Yeah, okay…. lets put an end to that!  “Get er’ done”!!!!  lol

Loved the challenges, just have to rise up and take them!

So75 percent with an “oh! so close” on the snookers, makes for a good weekend.  I will post the video later. We are off to play AKC this coming weekend… cross your fingers for some double Qs!  I need four more to qualify for next years Nationals..  and Greg wants to go, so that means he will want to drag me with him!  lol

Good job Baby dog!  You are the most awesome!!!!!  :)

Babys AKC runs from the Rocky Mountain All Terrier Club

This was a really good trial. Baby and I did a really good job this weekend after being off for 3 weeks. We only did team events, snookers, pairs, the Grand Prix and Steeplechase. Our team came in 5th overall. Baby came in second for Performance Grand Prix (thats what I call it). Our finals run was awesome but we ticked the broad jump. Our speed was great, I was able to run (first time in a long while) and Baby really turned it on. Enjoy the videos.

She did it!  :)  She snorkeled without any food in the bottom of the bowl first try!  I will take some video soon.  I am now looking for duration under water (for bubbles).  We have also started “limp:”  I will keep you posted.

2008 November 12 - Double Q 19!

Baby dog and I received our 19th double Q toward our MACH2 last weekend. It was also an incredible run in standard. We could not have done a better job on that run. The jumpers run was another story and although it too ended in a Q it was NOT a great run! Thanksgiving weekend we will have an opportunity to run for our MACH2 and to qualify for the 2009 AKC Nationals. I think we can do it.
