Rush is almost 15 weeks old now. We have been having a wonderful time. Last week I taped her ears. Its been quite the dilemma for me whether to do it or not. I only did it because I wanted both ears to go the same way - she had started pinning one ear against her head (always). So I taped them. :( Today I took the tape off to let them air and both ears look wonderful! I dont know if I will put the tape back on or not.

We are working on our basic stuff, which she is doing well at. We started “heel” position this morning. Lets see, what have we worked before?

Sit, Stay, Stand, Come, Down, One Paw, Sit up (in its infancy), Leave It, Stay House, Roll (both directions), Put Your Head Down (which she will now do on command) yeah!!!, Perch (working on moving around the perch now), Wait, Get In The Box (big and small).

OH! The big one. I always wanted a dog to jump into my arms but Ice isnt interested but Rush is! When I open her crate she will launch into my arms (no fear this one) and of course now I make sure I am ready for her. I have now started using the command “arms”. I will jump for my agility so we dont want that and come up is being used for here to put her paws on my shoulders so I can lift her, so arms it is. Its really cool - video to follow.

Weigh in day.

Man she is getting heavy!  Our little pup weighed 20.4lbs today.

How about those crazy ears…

Rush’s ears just don’t know what direction they want to face. Currently doing a left side flop…

Today we got the “put your head down” on command! This was the first real capture I had done with her because I couldnt figure out how to lure it :) But its really cool - and she does like to offer it if I am not responding to anything else. I love it!

She is a fire ball. Not quite as wild as when she came here. She can now wait at the top of the stair in the house while I fill food bowls. Although she can reach the bags and help herself or get into a bowl she waits. The last couple days she has been coming down to the same step as the bowls, but wont touch them - now thats self control. :)

Today Rush mastered perch. She seems to be a little of a thinker and didnt understand what I wanted. I use the clicker and the phone book and I d lure… otherwise she sits down and stares at me. Today when I got everything out she did it! She is an amazing little dog.

She spends alot of time carrying my shoes around - never chews them really (not that I have found) but I can never find a matching pair anymore. :) Today I picked up six shoes - not one was the same! Needless to say she loves my closet and you can find her there if she is missing.

Her greatest fun next to that I think is going to feed the horses after dinner. She likes to race around and herd her sister (adopted) Kaylyn. Kaylyn is a good sport about it and doesnt usually bite her (she just runs faster). Five of them go out there so its quite the chaotic scene, but she loves it.

3 Month weigh-in

Rush weighed in at 17.6 lbs today. She’s growing fast!
