Rush weighs in at 36 pounds - 19 1/2″. She is 10 months old.

These were photos taken of the dogs scenting themselves on some fresh blankets. The reason the blankets were on the floor is because of Ice - he loves the fabric softener and fabric sheets, and so do the rest. So all three dogs wound up in the pile!

2008 August 20 - Training Update

002blog2.jpg  Rush and brother Rip

Well I dont know what has happened to my Rush puppy but for the last three days this little dog has made a full turn. It started by me showing her how to do an “around” of the cones. I showed her once and she caught on immediately. I was so proud of her! Up to this point it didnt matter how many times I showed her it just would not catch on, she would have no interest at all to anything. I finally found a tug toy that she will work for which is wonderful! We have started our wraps around the cones, transfering them to jump stantions.
She wraps really fast both direction. We started contacts today - bang on the teeter that she was really afraid of for a long time. Contact on the aframe (jump up and hit it). I want running contacts on everything so we are just teaching the striding off the yellow.

Her health is in the further part of my mind lately based on this week. She seems to be feeling much better still and showing an interest in me more. :) I see her tail wag much more and she actually wants to work with me more.

I think we have finally turned a leave! Looking forward to what our future will bring.

2008 August 13 - Yummy Chocolates!

001blog.jpg002blog.jpg003blog.jpg

I know dogs should not eat chocolate, BUT how can you resist THIS chocolate!  Rush got hold of not one but two of my chocolate cell phones.  My new one - the Blue “Ice Chocolate” (isnt that cool?  Its called an “Ice”) :)  oh sorry, focus…. my blue new one was left an a table in which little Miss. Rush got up on to get the phone.  My old phone then had to be pulled out because hubby said he would not get me another one… the pink one was on my bed because thats where I charge it (and it is my wake up alarm).  I forgot it in the morning when I left and Rush chewed that one up in the bedroom while Greg slept!  So I now have an old phone of Gregs (so sad its not a chocolate) and I will have to have that until renewal time - or hubby takes pity upon my phone situation and lets me have a new, new one!  Yeah, right!

2008 August 13 - Rush Health

 005blog1.jpg 009blog.jpg004blog.jpg010blog.jpg

Rush has been feeling much better lately I have restarted her training and she is really accelling!

I am not doing jumping but we are working ground work. I am working our wraps on the huge highways cones - she is working on distance and the wrap words. She really accelerates out of thoe turns. Going to the left is her favorite. She never wants her games to end even when she is tired… But when tired she just goes under the tree and wont come out.

She seems to feel better but I still feel there is something going on. She still cannot stand up on her back legs without a lean. She can lean on you or a table, bar = not on her own. She also cannot do a sit pretty. We will keep working her.

2008 August 8 - Rush Plays Herder

008blog.jpg This is just one beautiful dog 011blog.jpg

Rush has met the goats several times (okay, several hundred times), but never shown an interest in them, that is until today!  She  snuck into the goat pen (I was going in with other dogs but was too slow).  When I looked up she was clear across the pasture on the goats heels!  Of course I was shocked!  She never showed ANY interest in the goats before today.  And of course I did not have my camera.  :(   I went and got the camera to sneak in some “after pretending to be during” photos.  :)  Because I like to pair pictures with events on my blog (looks more interesting dont you think?)  Anyway, way cool! Use your imagination and you can see goats - dog - pasture - chase … get the picture?  lol

I dont use the goats for herding - they are my pets (saved them from slaughter)  but occasionally I let the dogs chase them around for exercise (or because the goats were being bratty).  :)  Hey, I didnt say I didnt have an evil streak.  I would never hurt them - but I can play with them cant I?  I made up with them!

2008 August 7 - Drunk Puppy

Not really!  But looks like it doesnt it?  Rush fell asleep on the couch with her tongue sticking out.  When she woke up she repositioned herself, but kept her tongue out!  I was lucky enough to be able to grab the camera and catch this.  The third photo is Rush being silly!
